BEIRUT — Cedars Art Production (Sabbah Brothers) celebrated its 71st anniversary this week with a glittering evening at Beirut’s Nicolas Ibrahim Sursock Museum, held under the patronage of Lebanon’s Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa.

The celebration was held alongside the “Divas: From Umm Kulthum to Dalida” exhibition, which Cedars Art Production (Sabbah Brothers) proudly sponsored, paying tribute to the company’s pivotal role in shaping modern Arabic drama since its founding in 1954 by Ali-Hussein Sabbah.

The evening opened with a cinematic retrospective tracing the studio’s evolution — from its early Lebanese-Egyptian collaborations to its present-day leadership in Pan-Arab, Egyptian, and Moroccan productions, while also marking its recent entry into the Saudi market.

The visual showcase featured archival clips from milestone titles such as AlShahroura (depicting the life of the Lebanese diva and icon Sabah), Al Hayba, Molouk Al Gad’ana, Bitlou Al Rouh, FiveThirty, Touba, Taj, and Salamat Abou Lbanat series that helped redefine Arabic television across borders.

Among those attending were many of the region’s top stars, including Ahmed El Sakka, Amr Saad, Karim Fahmy, Maged El Masry, Elham Shaheen, Taim Hassan, Karess Bashar, Kosai Khauli, Nour Ali, Daniella Rahme, Rafic Ali Ahmad, and Walid Toufic, as well as a large gathering of producers, directors, and industry executives.

In his remarks, producer Sadek Sabbah reflected on the company’s multigenerational journey:

“Our story is proof that dreams don’t die and success isn’t inherited — it’s built day by day with passion and persistence,” he said. “Today, my brother Ali and I represent the third generation, while Lama, Anwar and Sevine are the fourth. Together, we stand on the shoulders of giants, continuing the company’s mission to create groundbreaking content for the Arab world.”

With more than seven decades of continuous output, Cedars Art Production (Sabbah Brothers) remains one of the most influential independent studios in the Middle East, driving regional co-productions and exporting Arabic series to more than 30 countries, entertaining a wide audience across regional and global platforms, including Netflix, Shahid (MBC), Amazon Prime Video, ViuClip, OSN, TOD and many others.
