Riyadh, August 2, 2025 — In a landmark step for Kuwait’s creative industry, MBVISION Studios — the country’s first independent animation studio — has signed key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading South Korean content companies under the patronage of KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency).
The agreements, signed during the K-Content Expo in Riyadh, mark Kuwait’s first-ever international IP exports in animation, with South Korean partners set to adapt original Kuwaiti characters for global and regional audiences.
At the heart of the collaboration is an IP exchange agreement with Seoul-based Character Inc., enabling the co-production, licensing, and adaptation of Kuwaiti animation properties for Korean and global markets. This milestone signals a new era for cross-cultural content exchange between the Gulf and East Asia.
MBVISION’s Founder and CEO, Manal Al-Gharabally, emphasized that the deal reflects over a decade of creative development and strategic relations with Korean partners. “This marks our transition from project-based services to a true cultural exchange — where original Kuwaiti characters will be brought to life in Korean media and beyond,” she said.
The partnership also includes plans to bring Korean characters to Arab audiences, fostering two-way collaboration in animation, gaming, and immersive experiences.
This initiative is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea and KOCCA, highlighting growing global interest in Gulf-based IP and regional storytelling.
